March 18 — Pushing Myself Outdoors

I ran 3 miles today, outdoors. That’s a huge win. I honestly still have a headache from last night, and I debated skipping my run today, but I realized that I can’t guarantee I’ll be in perfect health on the day of the 5K, so I might as well go for a run to see if I can. It certainly wasn’t my fastest or best run, and I got a pretty annoying cramp in my side for the last quarter mile, but I was able to do it, and I’m really proud of myself for that. Running on the road feels much more normal than it did the first time I tried, which is great. It was also fun to just run around a part of Ann Arbor I don’t normally frequent. I definitely felt pretty stiff and lethargic after my run though.
