Feb 13 — Small Wins Can Be Big Wins

1.1 mile warmup for leg day today, but had some big wins. First, I ran about half on 5.5 and 5.7 speed, mostly 5.7, which was the highest speed I’ve reached. Second, and honestly what I think I’m more happy about, I ran part of my cooldown at 4.8 and even 4.2 miles per hour. I’m not sure if I’ve previously written about this, but running slower has been harder for me than running in the 5 mile per hour range, probably because it requires longer time on each leg. So being able to jog that slowly was a huge win for me. I’ve also been pretty hyper today, even at 7:30pm which it is right now. While I didn’t notice that on the treadmill, I’m curious to see if I’ll notice it when I lift. Returning to this, my hyper-ness didn’t give me extra strength, but it did let me have a shorter rest time between sets.
