March 16 — Back from a Longer-Than-Desired Break

First run in a while. I came down with a cold at the end of spring break, so once again I had to take a few days off. This time it was a bit more frustrating though, since I had also taken spring break off. It was definitely harder to mentally get back into the working out mindset after more than two weeks away. The warmup run was ok. I ran it at 5.5 which is good, but i definitely was feeling some cramping in my side, which is less than ideal. Hopefully it’s just due to being a little out of practice and not actual backsliding. We’ll see over the next few days. It did feel great to be back on the treadmill, we’ll see how leg day feels in a moment. I could tell I was a little out of practice when I started lifting, but strength wise I didn’t regress or anything, which was good. Writing this the next day, I’m definitely a bit more sore than I would have been had I not taken two weeks off, but not in any kind of way that interferes with anything.
