March 26 — A Weird Warm-Up

Very strange run today. Ran the first half of my warm up mile on 6mph, then upped it to 6.2 for the last half. Well, that was my plan. At .8 miles I got a pretty bad stitch in my right side. Normally when I get cramps it’s on the left, and this was also much worse than normal, where they start faint and sometimes get worse. This felt pretty sharp, so I cut the speed and started jogging into walking. I was a bit disappointed because I had been so excited to run it at my fastest speed yet, but I knew I had to trust my body. But after just a bit of walking, it went away, so I picked up the speed a tad, then went all the way back up to 6 mph. The stitch was there a bit, but not bad at all, and I was able to complete the mile at 6.
